Cemetery plots sits atop knoll in grassy field. Cemetery is ringed with pipes with single strand delineating boundaries. An interesting plot with a large gap from 1862 to next burial in 1881. Cemetery broadly overlooks the what now is Smith Mountain Lake, though once what was farm fields into the valley. Cemetery is referred to in Jemima Saunders death as being her old homeplace, thus we have referred to this as the William Saunders Cemetery in line with standard naming convention. Questions needing investigation is the final resting place of John C Franklin as well as the identity of Margaret Elizabeth Saunders.
