Some sunken markers, broken markers and fallen over as well. Cemetery is begining to return to nature as the growth is thick and aerials show little

Notes

Per historic topo maps, the Nichols and Martin family cemeteries are distinct – and the GIS appears to support this. In survey the cemeteries were immediately adjacent with the Nichols portion enclosed in a fence, and there was at least an Ada Nichols, Niece of Joseph Nichols married into the Martin cemetery as well as several further more tangential connections. As such, we combined the two listings into a single one.

There is a large more modern granite die in base that appears to only read “Martin.” Possibly be a family marker only, even though it isn’t really oriented in a logical way relative to the 19+ burials…photo included on cemetery page listing for reference.

Cemetery is shocking view into the horrific nature of Consumption (Tuberculosis) which took nearly everyone in this family, and took them particularly young with most below 21.
